The IceCube Neutrino Observatory

IceCube, already the worlds largest neutrino telescope, is currently under construction at the South Pole. To date, more than one quarter the array has been completed and is successfully collecting data. Here, I build the physics case for this ambitious project and present the first results, as well as a glimpse of the unprecedented physics potential expected from the completed IceCube detector, which will encompass a cubic kilometer of instrumented ice.
