The Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope Mission: Impacts on Cosmic Ray Physics

The Fermi Gamma Ray Space Telescope was launched in 2008 and continues to provide high duty-cycle all-sky coverage in ~0.1-100 GeV gamma rays at unprecedented sensitivity levels. Knowledge of a wide range of science topics has been advanced in unprecedented detail within this spectral domain. I will review a subset of these topics selected based on their relevance to cosmic-ray physics, including direct energetic electron measurements, cosmic-ray molecular cloud interactions, supernova remnants, active galactic nuclei, possible high-energy neutrino counterparts, ultra-high energy cosmic rays and possible associations and solar system emissions.
