Overview of a coronal hole-associated high speed stream, July 26/27 2003.
An example of a coronal hole-associated high speed stream that has corotated at least 5 times (Dec 1999 to Mar 2000). The rotation period is close to 27.3 days, which is the synodic solar rotation period (i.e., the solar rotation period as viewed from the Earth).
A possible shock-pair: a coronal hole-associated high speed stream appears bracketed by a zone 4 forward (17 May 1999, 2354 UT) and zone 1 reverse shock (18 May 1999, 1911 UT). An overview plot shows the timing of the Forward and Reverse shocks relative to the Stream Interface region.
An example of a coronal hole-associated solar wind flow (beginning at about 0800) on 30 Nov 1997. The solar wind Fe charge state distribution in this coronal hole is available from our SWICS sensor on the ACE spacecraft.
PM measurements (10 min averages) for the 3-day period 8 through 10 Feb 1997. A high speed stream arrives on 8 Feb, a shock on 9 Feb, and the density rarefaction on 10 Feb.
